Mrs. Misty Walton » Introduction

Dear Kindergarten Families,

I am so excited to be joining your child on his or her journey through school. Kindergarten is an exciting time for your child and an important part of setting up future success in school.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Misty Walton. I live in Kingston with my husband and our two daughters. I graduated from Roane County High School and later attended Roane State Community College where I earned an Associate of Science in Teaching. From there, I went on to Tennessee Tech University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Elementary Education. I completed my student teaching in Kindergarten at Midway Elementary School. I also completed two interim positions at Midway Elementary School during the 2015–2016 school year. The first one was for six weeks as a fifth-grade science and social studies teacher. The second one was for five months as a kindergarten teacher. I also completed two interims in second grade at Bowers Elementary during the 2016-2017 school year.

You are your child’s first and most influential teacher. I look forward to getting to know you and your child as well as working together to create the best learning experience for your child. I feel it is important to know and understand each of my students so that I can provide them with the best education, so please feel free to contact me with any information you think would help me to better educate your child. I appreciate your participation in your child’s education, it truly makes a difference.

I am available for conferences daily from 10:45 am to 11:25 am. With a couple of days advance notice,  I am also available most days before or after school. Please contact me at any time to schedule a conference. To contact me, you may send a note, send a text through remind101, e-mail me at or call the school at 865-354-2111. I look forward to hearing from each of you and learning about your child!
